Bribie Island Community Arts Centre

October 5 - 13

“Print.ed 2019” shows the original prints of a dedicated group of Bribie printmakers working out of the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, Banksia Beach, Bribie Island. This year’s exhibition has collagraphs, drypoint etchings, linoprints, eco prints, monoprints and gelli plate prints.

Printmaking creates original images from a matrix so multiple exact images can be created. The matrix may be a woodblock, linoprint, etching, screenprint or one of many other techniques and combinations of processes.

The exhibition will also feature a tribute with prints from the lino blocks of reknowned printmaker, Jim Aitkenhead, who passed away this year and who bequeathed many of his beautifully cut blocks to the group.

Group members will give printmaking demonstrations on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the exhibition. The exhibition will open for viewing from Tuesday 8th October until Sunday 2pm 13th October. The official opening will be  in the Matthew Flinders Gallery at 1pm on Saturday 12th October

All are invited to attend.
