Want to reduce your material footprint, save money & avoid fast fashion?

Jane Milburn will teach you about the personal benefits of reclaiming agency over our clothing choices, and share international insights on re-styling, mending, making, co-designing and upcycling clothes to drive change. You’ll learn simple ways to upcycle, mend, embellish or adapt clothes you own already.

Please bring several garments you would like to upcycle, embellish or mend.

Jane Milburn became an advocate for slow clothing in 2012. Concerned about the ethics and waste of fast fashion, she founded Textile Beat and wrote the book “Slow Clothing: finding meaning in what we wear’’aimed at shifting consumer culture towards dressing for planetary health and wellbeing. A Churchill Fellowship holder and an Order of Australia Medal winner for service to fashion sustainability in 2022, Jane is focused on regenerating agency in the wardrobe, using natural fibres & reducing waste through the power of consumer behaviour and choice.

Spaces strictly limited. Book early to avoid disappointment

It should also mention anyone bringing a sewing machine to use should have it tagged & tested by an electrician.
