Indigo Shibori workshop

Learn SHIBORI HERE with textile artist Cathy Moon at her Indigo Shibori workshop *

Saturday May 6, 9am – 3pm.

Shibori is the Japanese term for twist, turn or press. It offers an infinite variety of design options for fabrics. This class covers a demonstration of setting up & caring for the Indigo Vat. Participants will learn basic shibori techniques of Arashi, Bomaki, Itajime, binding & wrapping, and an introduction to basic stitching, such as Mokume, Maki-Age, Guntai & Ori-Nui. You’ll also learn the best paper techniques. 

* Those who attended Cathy’s previous workshop will learn more advanced techniques.

Cathy Moon has taught Shibori workshops extensively throughout Australia and has exhibited at The World Shibori Symposiums in Paris and Hong Kong. Her shibori has been purchased by galleries and private collectors. 

Cost $60 (BICAS Members) $70 non-Members includes Indigo vat, ingredients for vat, use of my equipment, stitching thread & needles & notes.**
