Wonderful gathering on the Opening Night as suspense grew before the judges declared the winners in the 2022 Matthew Flinders Art Prize at The Bribie Island Community Arts Centre.

A clear crisp night saw a bright crowd of about 150 under the stars mingling in happy anticipation for announcements from judges Ron Bryant and Lyne Marshall.
 

  • Jean Bennett's beautiful jesmonite work "Nestled'' took first prize;

  • Pete Martin's "On the Road Sunrise'' was second.

  • Two Highly Commended went to Jacki Moon for her delicate ceramic titled "Tribal Fringe'' and

  • Todd Whisson for his painting "River Gums Kilcoy''.

  • BICAS Members prize went to Chris Bullock for his painting " Road to Red Beach''.


Come see the fantastic exhibition and vote in the People's Choice award. It's decided on July 31. Exhibition ends August 5.

Gallery open Tuesday - Sunday 9am - 4pm during Matthew Flinders Art Prize Exhibition. 
Normal hours will resume after 5th August (Tuesday - Saturday  9am - 4pm; Sunday 9am - 2pm)
