COVID-19 Update 27th August 2020
You'd have heard new restrictions came into play yesterday, August 22, until further notice, for Local Government areas in South-east Queensland, including Moreton Bay region.
Gatherings in private homes and public spaces will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people.
These limits do not apply to businesses operating under a COVID Safe plan.
The Bribie Island Community Arts Centre DOES have a COVID Safe plan, so business will continue there as usual.
The strictest measures reimposed yesterday, August 22, are in place for private citizens in Greater Brisbane, which takes in eight Local Government Areas (LGAs): Brisbane City, Ipswich, Logan, the Scenic Rim, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Moreton Bay and Red land City.
Details can be found at: https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/public-health-directions/movements-gatherings
It is a timely reminder to please observe all the COVID safety procedures of hand hygiene and social distancing and to STAY HOME if you are unwell.
Your safety & wellbeing is our priority.

COVID-19 UPDATE: 17th March 2020
The Management Board of Bribie Island Community Arts Society has decided to close the Arts Centre from 4pm 17th March 2020 until further notice.
This is following advice given by the Federal Government to restrict all gatherings unless absolutely necessary, based on evidence that social distancing is one way to control the Corona Virus Pandemic.
Given this decision, the following will occur:
. All Working Together Groups and Hirers using the facilities here will be cancelled.
Those who have paid deposits for hire spaces can transfer this payment to another date when the Centre re opens. We hope this will be in June or July but we don’t know. It is an unprecedented event.
. Cafe 191 will be closed.
. All workshops in the months of March, April and May will be postponed and tutors thus advised.
Those who have paid will have the option of new date announced when the Centre re opens.
All exhibitions and events will be cancelled until further notice. Those who booked and paid deposits for exhibitions in 2020, will be offered first available slots in 2021 or in the event of a cancellation later in 2020.
. March, April and May Vibe markets will be cancelled
. Artist of the Month will be cancelled. Those bookings already in place will take up in that order when the Centre re opens
We look forward to seeing you back at the Centre when this tough time has passed. In the meanwhile, take very good care of yourself .
